A belated Merry Christmas to all of you out there! At least I'm just in time to wish you all a happy and prosperous 2006!!
FYI: This whole thing with the y and z being the other waz around isn't on purpose, it's the kezboards here that have these kezs the other waz round. And I don't really feel like correcting myself everztime...
After almost three weeks of shagz, I'm back in the green city in the sun (I know that slogan can't really be used any more, I just felt like using it for old times' sake). Today in four weeks time I will be preparing myself to fly back to that Swityerland. That means I'm halfway through mz stay at home. I'm not complaining, just mentioning it. OK fine, it sucks that I'm halfway through my holidays. But I guess with 8 weeks, I really shouldn't be complaining...
Shagz still is the place for me! I don't know whether I would feel differentlz on this shagz/towo thing if Nairobi was "more to my liking". I just have the feeling that I wouldn't enjoz mzself in Nai as much as I would back home. But I guess it's a different story when you're thinking about living there as a zoung person. But since I'm talking about the time when I'm about 50 or sth, it's shagz...
Christmas at home means two things: a lot of people and a lot of nyam chom! My mom has 3 brothers and 1 sister - and that means quite a number of people coming together at my grandparents' place. After the three weeks with all my cousins, I must admit that I'm looking forward to the time I'll spend there alone in January as the only grandchild. Nothing against mz cousins, but zou know, kids can sometimes be a bit loud...
As far as the nyam chom part is concerned, I feel sorry for all the goats and cows that are slaughtered every year during the festive season. Everytime I'm shagz watching the goat being slaughtered, I ask mzself whether these goats see it coming. Do thez know that once everz zear we celebrate the birth of Christ and in some areas this comes with roasted meat having to be on the table? Or any other occasion, do thez sense their time's up? Just asking... Warm nyam chom with kachumbari is obviously tops! But cold nyam chom a few days after being roasted also isn't bad...
Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year!...
Happy New Year!
Am sure you had a good one, eeeh! how do I put this, let me just remind you to take your WINTER gear with you. Welcome back and Happy new year.
Adrian - you really shouldnt be complaining - I only had two and a half weeks and you have about 3 remaining now?
Have fun, enjoy Nairobi - I feel you on being in shags - I was in mine for 3 days and it felt great - not having to rush to do anything but simply exist and be bathed in the glow of love from parents and family - I have been back a day but my brain is still fried.
LOL about the goats/cows/sheep/chickens/rabbits et al that become dinner - for that I can only say: Better them than you :)
Have a Happy new year too
Happy New Year, kijana. I seem to have missed the period when you went home however, I hope it is not too late to wish you a grand and restful time.
And a happy one to you as well even though we are already 14 days.
First time here and will be sure to keep it here. Post often.
Happy new year :-). Quite true about the shagz/Nai divide. The Kenyan countryside (basically outside Nai) is soooo charming that it'd be a waste not to live there. Imagine the spectacular views and the fresh air .... aii no comparison. I also plan to live outside Nai when I get the chance. If it has to be a city/town, maybe Eldoret or Coast
